Unrequited Love Poem by michael douglas hamby

Unrequited Love

Last night I couldn’t sleep
because you were on my mind,
and I was on my knees
asking god to make you mine.

There’s nothing I want more
than you right by my side
as we walk upon the sandy shore
and watch the waves roll by.

I want to hold your hands
and dance all night long
as we listen to the bands
that play our favorite song.

I want to say goodnight
then crawl into our bed
and have you by my side
when you lay down your head

I want to give you hugs
And kisses all day
As we play on the rugs
In harmony we lay

I love you so much
you just don’t understand
I want to be the guy
that puts a ring on your hand
