Unrequited Love Poem by phil Hobson

Unrequited Love

Love unrequited is hard to explain;
Unless you have felt it you can't know the pain.

It tortures your soul, and rips it apart,
And the anguish you're feeling is crushing your heart.

My longing for her has quite high-jacked my day,
And as hard as I try, it just won't go away.

The image of her in my every thought
is like slow suffocation, and it leaves me distraught.

I am sleepless at night, and awake in my bed,
As the image of her spins around in my head.

When I see her next morning she's quite unaware
Of the feelings I hide, and my hopeless despair.

She talks of her loves, and it's just so ironic
That her feelings for me are entirely platonic.
