Until The Next Sunset Poem by Alnaver Baltazar

Until The Next Sunset

I remember still …
While the gentle waves embrace the shore,
as it sympathized to the slowly dying sun,
There was that certain trust that we once gave.

I recall still…
That small voice of a child
Uttering those simple words that echoed in our mind…
The words that consumed our thoughts…
“Cherished the sunset, for tomorrow it may not be there.”

I still have everything in my mind…
Every word that a friend have said
That I have reflected,
That I have tried to put meaning to
“When will the sea ever become peaceful? ”

I still have in mind…
As you hurriedly went to the beach to catch the setting sun…
But you failed,
Because the cloud is selfish
And then you whispered
“Can the clouds be more selfish?
Tomorrow I will still wait.”

I still can recall…
Every moment that gave our friendship its strength
Every word that we shaped,
And all the meaning that we put,
With each letter…
Each letter that deepened our friendship
That entwine our souls.

However …

All these are just memories now…
The sound of the waves as it embraces the shore,
Are like your voice calling my name…
And the light that reflects on the water
Are like your eyes staring at me…
So deep…
So meaningful…

Until my last breath I would still remember…

All the glimpse of the sunset that you are with me
And the music of the waves that echoes your name
Will forever give meaning to me

And wherever you may be now,
I know that you are always with me
Looking at me…
Silently loving…

And even though all are just memories now… Let me wait,
Let me watch the sun,
As it dies again…
