Upon A Star Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Upon A Star

Rating: 5.0

While the worlds asleep I hear your voice
A sweet lullaby that leaves me helpless
I hold on to the sounds as they lift me towards the stars
Here I am free
Heaven isn't so far now
Closer than perhaps the sun that relives the chills felt from its caress
While the worlds asleep I hear your voice
It surrounds me with the sweetest stare
I become lost
Lost in the whirlwind that shoots past the stars
I lye awake
helpless in a dream
A vow that speaks with such purpose
Without anything to grasp
my hands clinch
Falling deeper into this voice of reason
A distant sound that speaks so clear
The weight of each word is felt
Helpless to the touch from which it came
Hands trace a face
The stars become eyes from which depth couldn't begin to measure
Upon a star your voice could be heard as the rest of the world
Remains sleep
