I could drown in salty tears
Marinade in all my fears
But the world keeps spinnin' round
I pray you'll soon be homeward bound

this drink won't make you go away
It only keeps my grief at bay
Maybe one of these days you'll see
How you make my heart just sing

Was it all in vain
(My emotions)
Was it all in vain
(Were my motivation)
I saved this heart for you
(Did you know that)
Forever here for you
(Who wouldn't want that)

The pain I felt inside when you crushed me
Made my heart implode
Oh, can't you see

I don't know what else to think
These emotions make me sink
To yet a lower level still
All this heartache makes me ill

I don't know what to do
I still want to spend my life with you
Only you can make me see
How much you really love me

Do I still have a chance
Or was it really all in vain?
