Vain are the poets thoughts of fame
vain is the river God that knows thy name
vain is the stifled up erection
vain the reflection of an unstirred pool
vain is the fool loved by Erasmus
and vain you who just killed Oedipus
vain is aggressive femininity
vain is the love used as a pose
a rose abused just for her beauty
vain is the bullet with a name
which tries to put an end to fame! M
