Valiant Loss Poem by Christine Errett

Valiant Loss

Meaningless, save to thin a burdened planet's load
Scarred and broken, wounds no one can see
Lost, why is a battle fought
with weapons of this mortal world?

A larger battle to be waged—
one that no mortal can survive.
The war to end all battles
The weapon, be our Christ.
