Very Salty Poem by Dorsey Baker

Very Salty

Like a car
going the wrong way
one a one way street
you go
against the grain
like a heavy
wind blowing out
over the ocean
you go
against the grain
like a turtle
without a shell
upon its back
its head pointed
toward the sky
and the sun
burning into its eyes
you go
against the grain
you endure
the thunder and lightning
and plow
through the pouring rain
you are determined to
go
against the grain!
