Vile Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

Vile

Crossed paths with a beast
who was the most vile
I've run away, Didn't once look back
suffering is found there
so many under brute attack
I am emancipated, fly like a bird,
one with the habitat
Soar above mountains and trees
Watchful eyes fiercer
than any big cat
No danger can find me
or track my trail
it's what the effect
of this risk may entail
I said, "Simmer down,
Can't touch what they can't see"
which assures me that
i'm going higher in motion
it is normal, it is normal
Feeling concerned not knowing
the life ahead of me
Told myself if I jumped,
it was a brazen move,
but for war, ready was I born
and I'll take the jump
because I have the spirit of ogun
to have empires torn
shango's also of me, I want justice
for the world that's been corrupted
