Vindication For My Suitors Poem by Belle Violet

Vindication For My Suitors

I've been wicked in this life,
that
I couldn't deny.
I played
with my meat
before I ate it.
Drove good men toward hating.
I flirted with foxes,
just to give them tight boxers,
and I threw a boy out once
at Christmas.
That makes me the ultimate
Grinch B****.
So I deserve what I get in return;
For all those broken hearts.
For all the wars fought.
for all the kind ones
that fell
under me;
for those that I walked on
and those I ignored;
those I drove towards
the blade of their sword;
all the knights I melted down
into gates -
to welcome all the drunkards
that were strolling in late;
for every man I stole the sun from,
turned around
and ran away from,
he got vengeance
for you all.
Soft look, hard fall;
my beloved, my beloved
is already someone's husband.
He will never
love me
and I will never
be his.
And I don't doubt
I deserve
every minute of this.
