Viral Lover Poem by Kevin Patrick

Viral Lover

Rating: 5.0

Swirling in your perception is the first sign of infection
Aroused inside the ambience of liquor and strobe lights
For in the dark corners where adults get their treats as kids
Carousing round the latest hits disguised the mating games
And moving toward you is the fever that feeds your libido
A dashing rouge or starlet who lowers your immune’s resistance
They’ll be tailored in Gucci and prime cut dolce gabbana
Dressed inside fashions you always wanted tear at in the night

And as the music cascades into a drum role of heartbeats
You’ll find yourself admirers injecting their sweet disease
They’ll send you sweet whispers, and kisses for adventures
Inviting you to hotel suits to be Weekend paramours
But while your reason says no, your instincts lose control
Hypnotized by passions thighs and the pleasures of making sin
As you make an escape to the bandit’s private den
You realize now there is no cure for the fatal malaise of desire

Now In the cold room where the lamb lies down with the tiger
The fever of hot blood runs high under the embrace of shivers Feeling terminal now, as the flesh you taste is consumed suffering the agonies for the ecstasy of instant pleasure And in the afterglows aftermaths they’ll whisper into your ear They’ll say “Don’t expect a fairy-tale after a happy ending” You’ll walk away somber with the hangover of a new day Subject to the humiliation of becoming patient zero

Love was never in the ballpark now the viral lover has left their mark

Love is contagious and viral in more ways than infatuation. A great write.
