W? Poem by Kevin Patrick

W?

Where is a country that has no warders?
to be a world free, without any borders

Who casts the laws with self-righteous applause?
Designed with bent rulers that trace all our flaws

What is the past but an echo of space?
We can dimly recall, yet never retrace

When does the truth grow a narrow motif?
Between science and faith comes make-believe

And why do we tie ourselves to short lives?
When we should live tall, against the high tide
