Virginity Is Dignity Poem by Doctor Tafadzwa Richard

Virginity Is Dignity

The majority say, virginity is not dignity but lack of opportunity, but l as the child of the day today, the parent of the day after today, do agree with the minority in rephrasing this statement that virginity is dignity not lack of opportunity.

This is so because people are conforming to this world that which we knew, respected and held so dear has lost its value, not because we are undergoing evolution as scientists say, but because evil is taking over, for example, a man tying a knot with another man, young girls modelling around half naked, young man who are to be our legislatures of the day after today are moving around heads high like a gazelle, short and trousers low as if they are to crumble. A clear indication is there that once was has lost.

Youths of today think and believe that sex is a way of leisuring or enjoying life but the bible say otherwise. As it clearly stipulates that it is an activity devised for and only married couples, but because of technological advancement, our world has changed, it is now a world of facebooks not holybooks, a world of fashion not intercession, for sure our world has changed.

It has become a cliché, ' HIV and AIDS kills, no sex before marriage', as the motto continues yet we play ignorance on our part. Everyone is now and well versed with the knowledge of HIV and AIDS pandemic but we still believe that virginity is lack of opportunity.

How can we call something that buys our tickets to the graveyard an opportunity? . Why call an activity that leads us into child headed families and early pregnancies an opportunity? . Think about it.

Boys, who amongst you wouldn't want to marry a virgin girl? . obvious none. Why then exposing yourself o teenage sex whilst you expect a virgin at your honeymoon, food for thought.

lf l was to invent a viginometer, we wont be surprised to see that only a few if not none, still have the dignity of their virginity.

ladies and gentlemen, keep that which you are proud of, for once lost, cant be found. It is your virginity, hold tight for it is your dignity.

I Thank You.
