Voice Of Poverty Poem by David Page- aka Harry Riley

Voice Of Poverty

I have no voice and yet...
And yet my voice is great
I wield no power...
Control no ship of state

I am your worst nightmare
Your biggest fear
My name does not sit well
Yet casts a giant spell

You wish I were not here
To polute your ordered sphere
You shrug and pass me by...
Yet ignore me at your peril
For I can never die!
