W.W.J.D. What Would Jesus Do? Poem by Luke Easter

W.W.J.D. What Would Jesus Do?

I saw a teenager with a cigarette between their lips,
Only to be replaced by a beer and several huge sips,
Big deal, this is a worldwide occurrence, oh so true,
But, wearing the bracelet, “What Would Jesus Do? ”

I don’t know about that Jesus but I know about mine,
He’d never go anywhere with pants below the behind,
While as a female parade around with a braless chest,
And wearing a cross between two over exposed breast.

Of course, I simply cannot leave this disrespect alone,
I am sure every person reading this poem has known,
A least one guy who wears the cross as a symbol of sex,
Like the gal what greater sign to the Lord for disrespect?

Might Jesus wear clothing attempting to graphically entice?
Suggesting a joint, maybe a couple of drinks would be nice?
Supposedly we're His hands on earth to accomplish His will,
By illegal substances or an abundance of prescription pills?

John 14: 12, Jesus lets us know greater things than these,
Shall we do but 1st in Him we have to have faith & believe,
Not for our own self gratification of greedy sinful ways,
Or with all of the deceit that plagues our nations today,

Thought this uncaring attitude left with the Third Reich,
Yet, there are those bringing the movement back to life,
The Hitler’s of today’s world are both Black and White,
Like the original, not caring who they have to sacrifice.

Many people claim to be Christians but that can’t be true,
Most happenings in the world today Christ would not do,
Nor would Jesus take pleasure in watching it being done,
That’s Christ our Savior and the Father only has one Son.

Where did the icon of a fashion statement WWJD begin?
That it’s acceptable by God to arouse the flesh & pretend,
This old saying is a fallacy since cats do not have 9 lives,
Yet even if they did it’s not transferable, word to the wise.

And should you happen to know someone just by chance,
Oh, Philippians 4: 11, “content in whatever circumstance, ”
Doesn’t mean that in a current state of lack you’re to stay,
4: 13, will provide you strength to hold on till it goes away.

The bible has a verse that means, think before you speak,
Another intelligent translation is to look before you leap,
How can we tell if our actions label us as wise or a fool?
Oh, that is so easy, “W.W.J.D. What Would Jesus Do? ”
