Wait Poem by Kate Nelson

Wait

So many ways to say it:
Wait
Hold up
Just a minute
Not now
Simple words that could mean the world to someone.
But when they're needed to be said, word turns to dust and floats away on an everlasting wind, only to return when it's too late to say wait.
Give me a second.
Give me a minute, an hour, a day.
Give me a month, a year.
Give me a decade.
Give me any amount of time so i won't have to utter the useless phrase:

Please, I beg of you, wait.
