Waiting Poem by Madeleine Morrow

Waiting

Before I knew better,
I would wait…

I lived the limbo life of the lost.
Cast in stillness and feigned patience.

The blood under my skin roiled,
pounding the tick and tock of time.

No prison on earth could ever
hold me as well as my own.

A very poignant poem that expresses the 'limbo of life' in just four couplets... Beautiful..
