Waiting For... Poem by Darin Bolvin

Waiting For...

Where do I go...

What can I say, It's been a pleasant charade.

The decision was made, you took a fall and that was all

So now I'm out on my own, sleeping with my ear to the phone waiting for someone to call.

When it all started...out on that swing, thought we be together through everything.

Boy I did myself wrong to picture it all in my head, high school sweethearts tucked in our honeymoon bed,

You had me read like an open book, knew when to make your move and sink that hook.

Whoever knew one could fall out of love so fast, so much for sticking through, and making it last...

Where do I go...

What can I say, It's been a pleasant charade.

The decision was made, you took a fall and that was all

So now I'm out on my own, sleeping with my ear to the phone waiting for someone to call

Now we're here with severed ties, tear stains around bloodshot eyes,

No more reason for lies, feel free to take of your disguise, I'm getting better, but only slowly do I rise...

I played the game, but not enough to win, wish I knew why it had to end.

How can we mend when we can't even be friends?

Where do we go...

What can I say, It's been a pleasant charade.

The decision was made, you took a fall and that was all

...So now I'm out on my own, sleeping with my ear to the phone waiting for someone to call.
