I roamed the world
for inspiration to come
But it wasn't to be found
in the skies and the clouds.
Not in the moon and stars
Not in mountains or pretty flowers.
But I did find it in
eyes that met for the first time
In unsaid words behind smiles
In the pain behind moist eyes
In sad and tearful goodbyes.
That's when my heart
overflowed with love
and the need to express itself
Words would pour in torrents
unable to contain themselves.
I agree, strong emotions are the best source of inspiration. Especially sadness and frustration.
True Laurie. Nature also inspires us to a great deal but somehow I feel that people and emotions touch our hearts more deeply.
Reminds me of the song YOU'RE THE INSPIRATION popularized by CHICAGO... Rated 10+++++
