A beautiful summer day began with a caravan of
friends cars going from New Rochelle, New York to the ocean
waters of the Hampton shores.
A spectacular sunrise was the gift for an early start.
But fear was there also as a result of the
Inability to swim.
But I waited in the beauty of the empty beach.
To learn how to jump the waves safely was the
objective.
But the tide was not patient for it.
My instructor yelled "duck" instead.
The strong force knocked me into the soft
sand.
It sent me back to the security of the picnic
table to watch.
I maybe still waiting to learn, while putting
my toe in a little at a time.
