Waiting To Love Poem by Troya Mosley

Waiting To Love

The night we met I was so lost.
I was willing to have you at any cost.
Young by age but grown by circumstance,
I knew you was my chance.

It was years passed before we met again,
But the next chapter had already began.
Tied to my life I had grown to resent,
I wanted to know what true love meant.

You were wonderfully postured and articulately spoken.
I longed for you to fix my heart that was broken.
We parted ways yet again,
Always wondering what might have been.

Relationships broken and much time passed,
I thought of what I failed to grasp.
A life with you would be so divine,
I knew you would one day be mine.

I lived loud for many years,
All the noise drowned my fears.
Time flew by as I raced around,
Never keeping two feet on the ground.

I had been loved dearly by wonderful men,
But no matter what my heart wouldn't give in.
You were what I was waiting for,
Without you I could grow no more.

The end of December,
Do you remember?
Well I certainly do.
It was then that I got you.
