Walk Down Memory Lane Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

Walk Down Memory Lane

we sit here watching each other in silence, no longer husband and wife
it's like we've forgotten the vows we made to love each other for life
Walking down memory lane filled my eyes with tears
Walking down the aisle thinking of our sweet years
as a child, I have always dreamed of my big wedding day
the love and happiness we shared makes me want to stay
thinking of us now I know the best of us have come to be
thinking of us now I know it'll be hard for our dear babies
I hold you in my heart and i can not let go
of the future we should have shared but i know
the road of our life together ended that day
Gone in separate directions, nothing to say
The last walk down memory lane find us alone and crying
The last walk down memory lane have us hurt and dying

Oh, so bittersweet...hard to walk down memory lane....without looking back at the crossroads, turning lanes, and stop lights.....alas....we journey on....PEACE
