Walking Away

ALL THESE YEARS,
I GAVE YOU EVERYTHING I HAD,
FROM MY DEVOTION,
TO MY HOPE AND AMBITION,
THOUGH MY TRUST HUNG BY A THREAD,
I STILL GAVE U THAT,
I GAVE AWAY MY EGO,
N LIVED A LIE,
FOR YOU.

NOW AS I SIT IN SOLITUDE,
FAR AWAY FROM THOSE TROUBLED WATERS,
I REMINICE ABOUT THOSE YEARS,
AND REALIZED,
I NEVER GOT ANYTHING IN RETURN,
FOR TRUST,
I GOT DECEIT,
FOR LOVE,
I GOT HATE,
FOR EVERYTIME I SPOKE UP,
YOU WOULD BEAT ME BACK DOWN,
AND WHEN YOU COULDN’T,
YOU WENT FOR THE HEART,
EITHER WAYS,
YOU ALWAYZ WON,
AS I BACKED DOWN,
I REMAINED TORN,
FOR I WAS LIKE A TORTURED ANIMAL,
WISHIN TO ESCAPE,
BUT I COULDN’T,
FOR EVEN A TORTURED DOG,
REMAINS TRUE TO IT’Z MASTER.

BUT 2DAY,
I HAVE CRIED MY LAST TEAR,
N THE MIST FROM MY EYES HAVE CLEARED,
THIS DECISION IS LONG OVERDUE,
N IT’Z TIME FOR ME TO START ANEW,
WHERE DO I GO FROM HERE,
I HAVE NO CLUE.

BUT TO MYSELF,
I HAVE 2 REMAIN TRUE,
COZ ON THIS DAY,
I’VE DECIDED TO WALK AWAY,
SOMEDAY,
I MIGHT RETURN,
BUT TILL THAT DAY,
I’M WALKING AWAY.

I think your poem speaks for a lot of people out there. Your words ring true but, this poem is very sad. I am glad you are walking away. Don’t make the same mistake and return again some day. Start anew that’s what you should do! (Report) Reply

Poem of the Day

poet Algernon Charles Swinburne

I hid my heart in a nest of roses,
Out of the sun's way, hidden apart;
In a softer bed than the soft white snow's is,
Under the roses I hid my heart.
