Want A Clue? Poem by Jacob Martin

Want A Clue?

I have given you all I could possibly give.
Told you everything you wanted to hear.
So now its your turn, give me a reason to live.
Give me a reason to not think i'm living in fear.

You build me up to only knock me back down.
This isn't something somebody close should do.
In my dreams, your the reason why I drown.
Underwater I'll take my fist breath, dedicated to you.

I smile as my consciousness slips further away.
And so I think to myself, why am I doing this?
Will you even care if you were to lose me today?
I ask you to stop screaming, but your hatred persists.

So you think you have me where you want me, right?
No, I am where I have chosen to place myself to you.
You strike me down as if it will set in sheer fright.
But I don't spook so easily, so just get a damn clue.

Sure, I may be 16 years old, but I'm smarter than you.
Maybe its hard for you to accept it, but it's a proven fact.
You go ahead and tell me I'm the problem, you always do.
While your at it, do us all a favor, change the way you act.
