Wanting An Escape Poem by Ashley Perkins

I find myself laying on this floor of mine, oh what I wouldn’t give,
To feel just fine.
There’s so much more to me, then what you see,
I’ve been through so much,
Id give anything to be free.
I’ve sacrificed my heart to someone who doesn’t care,
Someone who wouldn’t even be there.
I give it my all, and every time I think of it, on the floor is where I fall.
I’ve been talked down, everyone expects me to smile,
But all I wear is a frown.
