War As I See Today Poem by Latika morselli

War As I See Today

Ululating from the midnight dust...hands are scavenging for a grasp of breath...a ticket to life.

In the world of war I see today....and the silent bombers creating music with their destructive instruments...with the soldiers of men raping the world of its only beauty...stripping the ground for what could be found as evidence.

Bodies of the past entwined in this murky nightmare...musical notes of war darting through the dirty particles of air, spiralling around like oversized black bladed hoolah hoops through and within this hemisphere.

Slowly, historically writing its own precious script...this dangerous story which unfortunately... will be told and no doubt be.. once sold on those black and white papers...written in bloody bold.

Imprinting, labelling and destroying that tiny space we are all meant to have...from nowhere to somewhere.. inside and our own clear heaven.. of what should be called peace, is entrapped by the cold cold bars of powerful punishment.

Green fields are streaming with blood and tears.
