Wash The Doubt Away Poem by Moth Harris

Wash The Doubt Away

If only stars shined a little brighter on this street
I'd say that this is the most beautiful place to meet
Unlike under the burning tree that burnt the bottom of our feet
As we tried to climb to the top to reach the stars

And maybe we're looking at it all the wrong way
Try to get to the top and hope we stay
Why can't we just lay together
and let the dew on the grass wash the doubt away

If only stars shined a little brighter on your face
I don't want your beauty to go to waste
I've brought you to this place to make you smile
and I'd savor the taste

And maybe you're too beautiful for my own good
Maybe if you'd let me in I could
Try to wash the doubt away
and we'd lay among the stars and say
'They shine a little brighter here'
