Wasted Love Of Mine Poem by Franchesca Mia Tortoza

Wasted Love Of Mine

I watched as down the aisle you glide
I look and I remember how I lied,
When you said, 'I wonder: Who is it you truly love? '
And I said, 'I've not been yet blessed by heaven above
To find that princess my heart beats endlessly; furiously for,
To spot upon whose sight my heart to the skies above soars.'

And gently, I wipe a single tear from my eye,
Recalling back when I gazed at the night sky,
Back when I waited for ages upon a shooting star
And I wished, 'Though that time may still be far,
I wish, someday, she would learn to truly love me,
And finally, lovers is what we would always be.'

I look to heaven, to the skies blue
And wonder why, in love, I lost you,
And what will happen—where will it go?
What will be done? I, by no means, know.
I sigh once again, and I hear my aching heart whine,
'Oh, what will happen to this wasted love of mine? '
