Wasting Away Poem by Daniella Antunovic

Wasting Away

Rating: 5.0

Dispersive emotions scatter from within,
as days drift by the goosebumps on my skin,
demonstrate experiences that were stranggely akin,
this pains me, where do i begin

I guess there was a time of joy
where happiness was set alight
a time we only needed to accomplish just one simple plight
and that simple plight, consisted of one thing
fall asleep at night, and see what each new day would bring

over time, realisation hit me, the roses we
could once see, began to wither away in
blight, days turned into a dim light, the
forces of our emotions, lacked exessive
might, sooner or later, we'd lose the fight

the dreams which we thought could be come
reality, turned into virtuality and drifted
into the sky, like a flying kite or
a lost soul running from a grave site.

Moral of the story is, when you think your
life is in immisive bliss, plan a reality
check, you never know what you may missed
while you're enjoying each moment of your day
think of the moments, you just wasted away,
because maybe in the future, you won't have a say
