Wave Poem by Gilly Ross

Wave

Rating: 5.0

If I were a wave
where would I go?
What distant land
would I come to know?

A fabled beach where
no man has stood,
or fantastic cliff
topped by wood.

Where should I crest?
Where should I fall?
What shell should I leave,
large or small?

What fun I could harbor
in my fold,
A mighty surfer,
young or old.

A boogie extreme
a board to carry,
I could come in quick
or, I could tarry.

An Angel fish,
or mighty whale,
a cruise ship
or Sanpan sail.

What color water,
aquamarine?
Azure, cerulean and
every shade of green.

I think I'd like to stay
right here,
I see a child
clap and cheer,

I'll tickle his toes with
soft white foam
and play a while
'til he goes home.
