We Are Blessed By Choice Poem by Terence George Craddock

We Are Blessed By Choice

our kindness
compassion friendship
can be used against us
to target mark us

by a borrower scammed
money request borrowed
without intention to repay
can haunt lender in future day

gifts of time given
can create expectation
expectation can exploit

give generously
give encourage wisely
give from the heart

do not give reluctantly
or under compulsion
God loves a cheerful giver
give with a willingness

gifts from that which you possess
not from that which you do not have
gifts can be surplus prepared food
gifts need not be material possessions

gifts can be precious time talents
love shared from a joyful heart
gifts radiant joyful healing hearts

kindness stops for people in need
who today can be a Good Samaritan?
Stopping to help strangers in need

a man who was robbed
beaten worse left for dead
is a victim found in need
will we bless found need

a stranger in need
needs a little kindness
if we gift give kindness
we bless the world
