We Are Free Poem by David Harris

We Are Free

Rating: 5.0

When a stranger tells you something,
we’ve been fretting about for months
the relief in us brings tears to our eyes.
We feel more relaxed
and joy comes back
into our worried lives.
It is as if a curtain
that has been shrouding us
has been suddenly taken away.
We feel happy within ourselves.
Feeling as if nothing can go wrong.
We want to shout it
from the nearest hill or mountain around.
We are free!
We are free!
Free from the shackled
that bound us
and was dragging us down.
