We Are The Medicine

Brothers and sisters
its’ hard to conceal
what love has given me
to fight for in zeal
Giving without judging
that's the deal
compassion with forgiveness
that's what's real
Looking past our skin
taking off the peel
our heart the nectar
and greatest meal
Just one of many different ways
to see and feel
that we are the medicine
of the medicine wheel
and loving each other
is how we will heal

poet Alfred Lord Tennyson

It little profits that an idle king,
By this still hearth, among these barren crags,
Match'd with an aged wife, I mete and dole
Unequal laws unto a savage race,
