We Proved Them Wrong Poem by Mary Nagy

We Proved Them Wrong

They said ''You'll never make it''.
We said ''Just watch and see''.
No matter what they thought back then
We've made it and we're free.

So many years have gone by
and together we have stood.
How come they never told us
that our life could be this good?

Who knew we'd be so happy?
It seemed like we were doomed.
They said we would be miserable.
They all had just assumed.

Oh yes, we've had our rough times.
No doubt we'll have more still.
You'll never have to question
if I'll be here...cause I will.

I'm glad we didn't listen
to the people in our life.
I've never once regretted
when I chose to be your wife.

I'm sure Todd's over the moon with this one Mary, he looks a lovely fellow, and you have made it, which is great. This is a lovely poem, and flows so well. Sincerely Ernestine
