We Should Learn As We Live Poem by Francis Duggan

We Should Learn As We Live

We should learn as we live and age can make us wise
But there is more to living for self i have come to realize
Those who willingly give can expect to receive
For to live as a better person this one ought to believe
There is room for self improvement in most people this too applies to me
Kindness does beget kindness is how it seems to be
The wealthy and famous many look up to and admire
And of singing their praises never seem to tire
But as is said of praise it does go to the praised one's head
One can say that truer words than this have never been said
To live as a poor person anyone would not choose
But in a World for one to win big many does lose
We need more kind people for to counteract greed
Who are willing to help those of helping in need.
