Wearing A Wrist Watch Adds To The Beauty And Dignity! Poem by Dr.V.K. Kanniappan

While I desired to wear a wrist watch,
when I was studying ninth standard with
my friend who was wearing a HMT watch,
My father bought me a costly Rado watch!

After I graduated my medical degree,
while my marriage was fixed in 1968 January,
My would be wife presented me a Rolex watch,
As a newly wed couple, it was a nice gift, match!

Even though I was wearing it for two decades,
The intrusion of mobile phones made us
not to wear wrist watches, but to carry mobile phones
which shows the time; wearing a wrist watch a burden!

Wearing a full hand shirt with cuff buttons
hides the watch underneath, seeing time is difficult,
It resulted in a lazy act to lift the sleeve and see,
But one day, I happened to wear a half hand slack shirt!

My wrist was exposed and looked as if naked,
I searched for my Rolex watch which was abandoned
in the cupboard, locker of my safe and found,
To my surprise, my watch was doing its duty!

It was showing the time with tick tack sound nicely,
I fondly touched with my fingers and tied snugly
on to my left wrist, caressing it very gently,
We can swing our left hand before our friends proudly!

We can use it as a mannerism to comb the hair gently,
I realized wearing a wrist watch adds to the beauty,
It provides also superiority, majesty and dignity,
I suggest every person to wear wrist watch regularly!
