Weary Poem by Marcquiese Burrell

Weary

who really cares about the body
there laying on the curb?
who really cares about his teachings
when the wicked run amok?
who going to clean the red stain
there from off the ground?
who really care about the mouths
here starving for their lives?
who going to dry the tears
when a child is found in pain?
who going to listen when the girl
speaks of violation?
who going help when the afflicted
need to be nursed to health?
who speaks out
when brutality is on the rise?
Hate is the gateway
bringing endless destruction
What does it take
for us to make a new direction?
My heart aches when I think of the world
My heart breaks when I think of the world
We should be more concerned in the world
Come together and bring peace to the world
