What And Why Poem by Edward Schwartz

What And Why

I'd like to figure out
What Life is all about:
Why the youth is always lout,
Why the age is full of mould?
I'd like to figure out
Why I am full of doubts,
But a friend of mine—without!
I'd like to figure out
What is the price of Crown,
Why the sky is full of clouds,
Why the silence is full of sounds?
I'd like to figure out
If other Souls live around?
Why my mind is weak and lazy,
But my spirit—strong and crazy?
I'd like to figure out
What will remain from us
When the Soul leaves its bound,
But the body lives in fuss?
