What Can We Do, Dear Heart? Poem by Edwina Reizer

What Can We Do, Dear Heart?

Heart, we must cast aside
the love that wasn't ours.
We must leave behind what we did feel
and all those wondrous hours.

Can you do this, heart of mine?
or must our dreams go on.
It is futile now to dream
for our love is gone.

He's with another whose heart is full
and has lured him with her charms.
And all we can do dear heart of mine
is release him from our arms.
