What Do They Matter Poem by Francis Duggan

What Do They Matter

What do they matter my opinions mine is just one point of view
I cannot hope to change the World in that I'm not one of a few
I will never be a ruler nor others I do not wish to lead
Many would count me as a failure one who has failed to succeed
At anything of what to them is important much money I do not have to show
for my span of time on this Planet I'm not one others wish to know
There are many more like me people like me are not rare
Yet success in itself can seem relative of that I am all too aware
And why wish for great power if others you wish to control
Since those who abuse their power have darkness of the soul
I rail against injustices in doggerel
But the stuff that I pen I cannot hope to sell
Mine is just one opinion and does not hold any weight
Which those who oppose me do empathically state.
