As i watch him leave
my body sinks into defeat
the tears roll down
like a forbidden river
never to stop again
i know i did the right thing
i know he is better off
but he honestly
was all that i got..
He nuzzled me
when i was lonely
he knew when i was sad
he drove me totally crazy
but thats what he did best
I'll never forget
our moonlight rides
along the shimmering creek
hearing nothing
but the rush of the water
as we see nothing
but the stars above our heads
as i groom his mane and tail
as they wait outside
i know that i
will never forget
what we truly had....
