What I Look Forward To Poem by DAVID TERRY

What I Look Forward To

I’ve now look forward to your smile
Your comments, you wit, your guile
And all of the while
Despite toil and daily trial
I now look forward to your smile

I’ve come to anticipate your words
And I know it sounds absurd
Because before you I heard
Words that before I preferred
But now I look forward to your words

I’ve come to dream of your good touch
Because I never knew how much
I relied on feeling, like a crutch
Or that I could anticipate such
That I look forward in your touch

I’ve come to look forward to your face
Nicer than those in whose place
Resides yours in that good space
Like smiles, words, touch and God’s grace
I now look forward to seeing your face
