What I Pen To Some Poem by Francis Duggan

What I Pen To Some

What i pen to some is doggerel and to others rhyme
And some even tell me I'm wasting my time
In persisting on keeping on penning such stuff
When my best will never be quite good enough
But i keep on penning despite what some do say
Addictions are quite hard for to give away
My best days in life may be forever gone
But the urge it is in me to keep penning on
One never grow short of things on which to write
The dawning of day and the evening twilight
The wild birds that sing on the bushes and trees
Their music seems to float in the freshening breeze
And I'll keep on penning despite what some do say
For rhyming too hard for me to give away.
