What Is Here Poem by Heather Williams

What Is Here

as i sit here thinking
about what happens next
i see you next to me
but i know you're not there
you're gone, misplaced
in a world of preps
and jocks and punks
you sit there, like
i did among the
outcasts and loners.
you're alone now, like
me, we are separted,
but soon togetherwe
will be, together happy
with ourselves and our memories, but we're
together and we begin again
as though none of the past
was real, as if it were a
dream, but together we start
a life all our own
of two poeple who seen
much more than most
our age, than most teens.
to most these days we are dead
but to we together are very alive
