What Is Important? Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

What Is Important?

Oxygen...
it is in
The air we breathe
It keeps corpuscles red
Without it we'd all be dead

Water...
Oceans are brimming
Ice caps are melting
It keeps a throat from being dry
Without it we'd die

Sunlight...
Gives warmth and vitamin D
It keep keeps the grass green
with the help of photosynthesis
Without it we wouldn't exist

Things we take for granted
on a planet that is unique;
Created by a glorious God
For the benefit of man
That was his plan...

Respect and conserve
all that we have been given
If greed and ignorance
lead to waste and pollution
We'll be responsible...
for our own execution

another step towards environmental protection...last two lines in each stanza strengthen the concern with a definite rhyme scheme adding to it...
