What Is Life Poem by teak palmer

I was born into this world
with all those people standing around
making promises and jumping up and down
I was well treated by the ones that gave me life
My Lord and my mother
are the ones that taught me to fight
they also gave me hope
and the will to survive
if I could go back
to the time I was conceived
I would tell my dad
that he should be sleeved
for even then the question still stood
what is life
and where do we go from here
but now I find my life dull and full of fear
So many days have past since I felt so safe
now I strive to get back to that place
When I was young
I wanted to be older
now that I am wiser
I want to be dumber
so what is life
and where do I go from here
I am now in love
with a woman that I hold very near
Yet my heart is broken
by her
that is clear
so what is to be done
by this very lonesome one
What is expected of me
this life
what does it want
for that I can not see
I just want to do what is right
yet when I do
I feel I can not see the light
