What Is Love? Poem by Paul Sebastian

What Is Love?

Love is a feeling learned
It’s learning to receive,
It’s learning to give
Love is a state earned

Love is not blind
It’s grown by knowledge
It’s not something one falls in
Love is not found

To love is to be real
To communicate love
Love doesn’t lie nor wear masks
Love triumphs over ordeal

Love is patient
Love is kind
Love is gentle
Love is tolerant

Love endures long-suffering
Love thrives on love
Love is commitment
Bears no grudges, is forgiving

Love is built on trust
Love is neither selfish nor jealous
Love is loyal to one loved
It doesn’t demand or rush

Love seeks to be God-centred
Love seeks to procreate
Love owns responsibility
Love seeks joy of beloved

It makes the reader feel good. And that is perhaps the highest aim a poet can aspire. If our poems make the reader feel good, we have achieved quite something. This poem definitely made me feel good. Excellent my friend
