The days do go, the hours do pass,
It is that time again,
When we do take stock of our lives,
And ask each other, when?
Will what we wish for, ever be?
Will together we be again?
Or will this way of transient life,
Be the only way which we’ll live?
Is living apart most of the time,
What we both desire?
It certainly is the way
To quench our love’s fire.
Try as I do to find a way
To change my path in life,
But to give up work just for you,
Would bring financial strife.
What is the answer I do ask?
How can we change it too?
I would, if I could,
Because, I still love you.
