how does the sound of heartbreak sound
when heartbreak is an unendurable intensity?
how does the sound of heartbreak sound
when shredded heart is mortally wounded?
blood dripping from wounds severed veins
blood flowing pooling on the floor
it is a nerve disturbing sound worse
than fingernails chalk scraping down a blackboard

it is a saudade sound an emotional
melancholic heart flesh torn sound
an unquenchable thirst dry throat all cells
of body nostalgic longing for a few drops
of water an intense longing for a beloved
absent lost...

it is a root tearing sound like strands
of hair terror pulled from head
nails pulled with pliers from fingertips
it is skinned alive internal screams
sound tortured body flesh is stretched
flesh sound as skin becomes surface
top fabric of a large drum played
in loud mad discordant drum beats

pounding brain body beyond endurance
sound of severe heartbreak is nature ravaged
in chaos huge blazing bushfires sweeping
across landscape raw wounds of deforestation
native forest felled earth ecosystems human
chainsaw bulldozers sacrilege destroyed weeping

wounds as plants wither die animals
dying dead extinct severe heartbreak
may be an unendurable extinction
event no redemption life breakthrough
moment coming back from the brink
sound of severe heartbreak is worse than most think
