What Lies Ahead Poem by Rownel Allen

What Lies Ahead

What lies ahead when you are gone
Life must be so dull, my spirit must be so low
Where would my strength come from
Without you I would be a lifeless form

You taught me how to love
You gave me all you've got
You made my life complete
You showed me how to live

Unimaginable, but quite possible
Our love's meeting the end of the road
I can almost feel it, I can almost see it
What lies ahead, take a deep breath..
Is death.
